Jo Fleming's large paintings are landscapes; falling somewhere between realism and abstraction. The work reflects her enjoyment of the natural, the regional landscape of forests, field and most recently the waterways of Annapolis. She is fascinated by the contrast of the man made element in the landscape and our urban relationship to the environment.

She studied at the Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland. Her paintings have been shown in solo and group exhibitions and placed in private as well as commercial and public collections. She has exhibited through Arts in Embassies of the US State Department in Mongolia and Taiwan.
