“New Work” by Sigrid Trumpy

Although best known as a painter, Sigrid also has extensive experience in etching and drypoint. This background plays an important role in her recent paintings, where linear elements of printmaking are referenced. These irregular marks show the imperfections of the movement of a her hand at work.

Sigrid Trumpy received her BFA from Maryland Institute College of Art in painting and her MFA from Pratt Institute in printmaking.

She was an Artist in Residence at Maryland Hall and Curator of Prints at the U.S. Naval Academy Museum, and Exhibitions Specialist at the Mitchell Gallery, St. John's College, Director of Exhibits at Maryland Hall for the Creative Arts (2008-2017), and studio manager at Castle Hill Center for the Arts in Truro, Massachusetts.
