During the month of June, Jo Fleming Contemporary Art is pleased to present a collection of suburban and seaside landscape paintings by local artist Edmond Praybe.

A juried artist in MFA Paint Annapolis, Praybe will also be painting throughout Annapolis during the first week of June as part of the celebrated annual event.

Praybe received his BFA from the Maryland Institute College of Art and his MFA from the New York Studio School. His work has been exhibited extensively in both institutional and commercial galleries, including Prince Street Gallery, Bowery Gallery, and The Mitchell Gallery.

In addition to his studio practice, Praybe teaches painting and lectures at institutions including Anne Arundel Community College, Maryland Hall, and Winslow Art Center.

Human presence subtly animates Praybe’s landscapes, helping to express what he describes as “a seemingly impossible duality” within his paintings - works that are both formally rigorous and deeply human, restrained yet full of life.
