‘Water Gardens’
May 8 - June 27, 2025
Join Us for a Meet the Artist Reception May 10, 5:00 -7:30 PM
‘Water Gardens’ features abstract water landscapes by Pittsburg Artist Jill Hackney.
Hackney explores the interplay of reflected light and atmosphere in her art. Known for her still lifes and landscapes, Hackney captures the impact of light on her subjects through her distinctive technique of layering vertical and linear strokes. Each painting is approached with a sense of nostalgia. The end effect is a union of the senses, which awakens feelings of joy, serenity, and peace.
“Works shimmer and vibrate, they offer a dream-like ethereal visual experience that draws the eye across the canvas. They explore the complexity of reflected light and how it shapes.”

‘Tree Legends’
October 19 - November 30
Reception & Artist Talk: November 9, 5-7pm (all welcome)
"Tree Legends" highlights Doug Moulden’s masterful blend of painting and sculpture, where his layered works evoke the raw beauty of nature. Starting with warped plywood forms, Moulden builds up rich textures using acrylic paint, modeling paste, and intricate carving. His paintings resemble tree bark, vines, and natural surfaces, offering a deeply tactile experience that blurs the boundary between two and three dimensions.
Also featured are Allen Alexopulos’ graceful wood turnings, which emphasize the organic beauty of natural wood through simple shapes and elegant curves. Sheryl Southwick’s dreamy forest scenes bring to life the interplay of light and shadow, with intricate oil paintings that celebrate the details of the natural world. Jo Fleming’s large-scale mixed media paintings which offer close-up observations of trees inspired by her rubbings on architectural trace paper.
Each artist contributes their unique interpretation of nature, making "Tree Legends" a celebration of form, texture, and the enduring power of trees.
